The Game

On November 11, the Play4Life team of Artists, Facilitators, “Jokers and Ninjahs” will participate in an multi-player online/offline game with autonomous teams around the world collaborating, rather than competing, to achieve the community goal. The game is co-designed by GameMakers through the process of playful and mindful interaction within their selected GameArea (it could be a local park, a tour through a neighbourhood, a special place, an important place, or just one that makes you feel peaceful). This team of people like you and me will create adventures, tasks, challenges and make maps for the PlayMakers (teams in your GameArea can choose to play your game on Nov11)

Athens, Greece will be the main GameArea. Here, the GameMakers will have gone through a process influenced by Dragon Dreaming and Theater of the Oppressed methodologies to design a street game. This is the ‘treasure map/geo-cache’ – influenced street quest. These teams will navigate the streets and solve clues and interact in public spaces in order to unlock the next stage of the quest. There will however, be some keys that they do not have. They will find these through the network of PlayMakers around the world, playing their own holographic version of the game in their town or city

The ecosystem we are establishing is a representation of the world as we see it could and should be. A world beyond borders,  fellow custodians of the EarthShip working together, sharing the abundance and celebrating our humanity while using Natures’successful patterns as models of how to live and love each other. Thus, the Athens teams are dependent on the teams in Durban, La Paz, Paris, Mumbai, or Alberta to complete their local quests or interact online in some meaningful way

As GameMakers, we will be engaging with each other and co-designing both the local game and how the network could be. This part of the game is the start of the Game
